March 15, 2023: As countless studies have shown, parks and open space are a vital source of both physical and mental wellbeing for humans. Parks provide innumerable benefits for people, our communities, and the environment.

Birthday Celebration at Martinez Park
July 27, 2022: The Villa Park Neighborhood Association and nearly 150 residents celebrated Private Joseph P. Martinez’s birthday. Private Martinez was the first Latino and Coloradan to receive the Medal of Honor in World War II, and his birthday was celebrated by the community in his namesake park. If he were alive today, Private Martinez would be 102 years old.
