Globeville Pocket Park
Your ideas will help decide what the park looks like, what activities people can do there, and what features it will have. Now it’s your turn to help design the new park!
Project Background
A new park is coming to south Globeville near the railroad tracks at 44th Avenue and Pearl Street. In 2023, Denver Parks and Recreation and the Denver Park Trust bought the land that used to be a tiny homes village to create a 1-acre park for Globeville residents to enjoy. It is a small space so people often call it the “Pocket Park”.
In 2024, Denver City Council voted to make the land a public park and it is now owned and managed by Denver Parks and Recreation. In 2026, the Colorado Health Foundation is helping pay for a community planning process to ensure the people who live, work, and go to school in Globeville can share their ideas for the park.
Community Engagement Partners
Abolition Garden – BIPOC & women-led urban farm centered around Indigenous land stewardship and cultural preservation, based in Globeville, Denver on the lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapahoe people as well as 40+ tribes who have moved through and with this land.
Birdseed Collective – Nonprofit community outreach organization that is dedicated to improving the socioeconomic climate of Denver, Colorado through innovative arts and humanities offerings.
Denver Park Trust – Nonprofit partner of Denver Parks and Recreation, mobilizing support to fund projects that ensure every resident has a place to gather, play, and enjoy nature.
Design Workshop Foundation – Foundation that partners with communities to expand access to design, education, and planning resources. Through collaboration and capacity building, Design Workshop Foundation helps turn local vision into lasting impact.
Globeville-Elyria-Swansea (GES) Coalition – Community-driven organization that organizes neighbors to build collective power and to prevent displacement by providing and preserving affordable housing in perpetuity.
Green Dot Coalition – Equity-focused placemaking organization working to translate community vision into green spaces, practices, and policies that build a more climate-resilient communities; foster projects that are water-smart, pollinator-friendly, and regenerative; empower local business leaders and community stakeholders; and advocate for underrepresented communities.
Residents of Globeville – Individuals with deep roots in Globeville who are committed to shaping the neighborhood’s future by and for the people who live and work there, ensuring community voices lead decisions about the places they call home.
