Community Grant Program
Through our Community Grant Program, the Denver Park Trust supports community-driven park projects and initiatives that make Denver parks demonstrably better in historically underserved areas of the city.
We award up to $5,000 for community-led, small-scale, high-impact park improvement projects. We also assist in navigating Denver Parks and Recreation, fundraising, and building project-specific collateral and more. All projects must meet the Denver Park Trust’s Project Selection Criteria.
To date the Community Grant Program has funded a new pollinator garden in Five Points, a Story Walk in the Athmar Park neighborhood, restoration of interpretive signs in Whittier, a healthy walking trail in Montbello, pop-up skate clinics in far Southeast Denver, and needed park enhancements in three parks in Sunnyside.

Neighborhood leaders, new and longtime residents, youth and elders know best which enhancements will improve their parks and help foster community care and stewardship of shared public outdoors spaces.
The Community Grants Program has over $75,000 available for community-led initiatives as of January 1, 2023. We are actively looking for community partners with ideas on how to enhance their neighborhood park in a thoughtful, equitable, and sustainable way.
